KASUR-Family of a 15-year-old youth, whose dead body had been found hanged to the ceiling of a haveli of a man for whom he worked, protested outside Chunian police station on Wednesday.
They put the dead body on road as protest and demanded action against the accused. Talking to The Nation, they said that Haider, 15, son of Boota, resident of Darbar Baba Sheikh Alamdin locality worked at the haveli of Yousuf in Kot Umar. They said that the youth looked after the cattle of Yousuf, adding that he left work and came home the other day. “He possessed Rs15,000 that he had received from Yousuf in advance. Yousuf forcibly took Haider to his haveli from where the latter was found hanged to the ceiling,” they alleged. Chunian Saddr police arrested Yousuf and two other suspects and registered a case against them. Investigation was underway.
On the other hand, a man was crushed to death by a tractor-trolley while crossing Balloki Road in Sarai Mughal. The deceased was identified as Shehzad. Sarai Mughal police impounded the vehicle and registered a case against its driver who managed to escape the scene.
Two dacoits pointed guns at a motorcyclist namely Imtiaz Ahmed near Perowala Road and robbed him of his motorbike. Kasur Saddr police were investigating.
Stringent measures stressed for dengue eradication
KAMALIA-Officers of all state departments, during a meeting held to review the efforts being made for dengue eradication were asked to go all out for the elimination of the disease from Kamalia tehsil.
The meeting was attended by DDHO Dr Kashif Nadeem, Deputy Education Officer (Male) and DEO (Female).
Addressing the meeting, Assistant Commissioner Kashif Nawaz said that all state departments must work together for the elimination of the disease.
“A special campaign should be launched to bring awareness to the masses regarding measures to end the disease from the tehsil,” he said, adding people should also be taught the ways to prevent the spread of dengue larva in their respective areas. He maintained that the administration should also have ensured requisite arrangements to prevent the spread of dengue larva in the tehsil, he said.
A team of Health Department sealed three drug stores on the orders of Kamalia assistant commissioner here the other day.
The team comprising DDHO Syed Rizwan Haidar Shah, Dr Kashif Nadeem and Naib Tehsildar Umar Sultan inspected the medical stores at Mauza Jakhar. During the inspection, three medical stores owners were issued challans and the stores were sealed.
