LAHORE - The 1st Torsam Khan Junior Boys/Girls and Master Squash Championship 2022 was inaugurated by Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon and Jahangir Khan at Pakistan Navy Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Squash Complex Karachi.
According to tournament referee Naveed Alam, in girls U-19 first round, Zaynab Khan, Zarlish Safdar, Fajar Hamid, Sameera Shahid, Sehriah Ali, Ummy Kulsoom, Sunzil Safdar and Ronaq emerged as winners. In boys U-13 first round, the winners were Rehan Alamgir, Shahnawaz, Umar Afzal, Haris Khalil, Raja Ali, Rana Azan, Huzaifa Shahid, Shehzad, Sayed Savi, Rehan Siddiqui, Abdul Ahad, Ahmed Khalil, M Bin Atif, Ahmed Ali and Amir Adnan.
In boys U-19, Mustafa, M Saif, Shayyan, Muhammad Ali, Abdullah Younas, Mubashir Khan, Humza Zahid, Mir Awais, Huraira Zafar were triumphant. In master 40 above, Jahangir Khan Jr, Cavish Farrukh, Abdul Saeed, Muhibullah Khan, M Arif, Faisal Masiya and Imran Haroon recorded victories.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon said: “Karachi is sports hub and full of talented youth, who are being provided the best facilities in every game by the government. I am hopeful that with holding of more such events especially at grassroots level, we can help our youth exhibit their prowess and excel at higher level. They are our real asset and if trained and facilitated, they can win laurels for the country at international level.”
