LAHORE As many as five people were dead and 12 workers got wounded as a result of explosion in a fireworks and explosive manufacturing factory at Badian Road on Friday morning. According to the Rescue sources, the blast occurred in the factory at about 10: 30 am. He said due to the intensity of blast the entire surrounding localities jolted and the roof of the building collapsed. As a result five people were died under the debris of the building and 12 workers got injured. The sources said, on receiving information, rescue 1122 officials reached the spot immediately and started their rescue work, rushed the injured to the hospital, and brought out the dead bodies from the debris after a great struggle. Later, police cordoned off the area and started investigations regarding the incident while the injured were shifted to general hospital for treatment.
