KARACHI - Federal Cabinet’s sub-committee for peace in Sindh, led by Federal Minister Amin Fahim, on Monday met with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) coordination committee members at MQM headquarter Nine-Zero to sort out solution of current tense situation in Sindh.The leaders of PPP and MQM vowed that they are against division of Sindh and underlined the need of joint efforts to foil conspiracies against the province.The committee was formed by President Asif Ali Zardari to improve the prevailing tense situation of Sindh by meeting all the stakeholders and finalise the suggestions for the government after the attack on Awami Tehreek rally in Karachi and attack on passenger bus at Nawab Shah in which more than 19 people were killed.Makhdoom Amin Fahim-led federal cabinet committee included Syed Khurshid Shah, Syed Navid Qamar and Maula Bux Chandio. The members of MQM coordination committee included Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab, Dr Sagheer Ansari, Saleem Tajik and Adil Siddiqui.The coordination committee members gave suggestion to the delegation for durable peace in Sindh and to foil attempts of terrorists of sabotaging peace of the province.The informed sources said that the MQM coordination committee has expressed its concern over the PPP’s sub-committee members meeting with banned Peoples Aman Committee leader Auzar Jan Baloch.Later, talking to media Amin Fahim said that both the parties were against the division of Sindh saying that we met with different stake holders to collect their suggestions for the betterment of the situation.He said the issue of jobs in Sindh would be resolved through negotiations. He said that MQM leadership has resolved the confusion by categorically opposing the division of Sindh and assured that all the pending issues will be resolved soon. Raza Haroon said that his party was against division of Sindh saying that division of Sindh was a conspiracy against the province and its permanent inhabitants. He regretted over the rising incidents of extortion and target killing in the metropolis. “Karachi is a peace-loving city where the people from every community are living peacefully. Some criminal elements are involved in extortion and unlawful activities in the metropolis,” he added. Federal Minister Khursheed Shah said that MQM was not in favour of division of Sindh. He said MQM was the first, which opposed the demand of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif of formation of more provinces in Sindh. Shah said that the targeted operation had been continued against the criminals in the metropolis, adding the PPP’s local leadership met with the outlawed Aman committee in their own capacity which do not represents the party.
