The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased electricity tariff by Rs1.97 per unit under fuel adjustment plan for April 2012. An increase of 1.97 Rupees per unit will be charged from the consumers, starting from the month of April. This increase will be received from the consumers of all electricity distribution companies around the country, except for the consumers of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC). NEPRA has made the approval after the hearing of a petition regarding the Fuel Adjustment charges. However, NEPRA has not decided about the mode of receiving the increase in electricity rates from the consumers.
