Saudi Embassy organises Gulf Cultural Show



ISLAMABAD – Embassy of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has organised Gulf Cultural Show, an annual feature to celebrate uniformity of culture among the Gulf Arab states.
The show primarily for ladies was held at the residence of Saudi Ambassador’s wife, Madam Al Jouhara Abdullah Al Areefi. Apart from families of ambassadors and diplomatic staff of the embassies of Gulf States, Pakistani women also attended the show.
Prominent among the Pakistani visitors were Federal Minister Sameena Khalid Gurki, PPP MNA Palwasha Khan and wife of the PAF Chief. The residence was illuminated with special lights and the guests were entertained with fabulous food and Pakistani folk music representing all the four provinces. The function was arranged in the big lawn of the residence with special stalls set up by each of the Gulf state. Each stall contained special items including their food, snacks and cloth representing their respective countries. Since Pakistan was selected as co-host of the cultural show for this year, the Lok Versa arranged the music to amuse the audience. The purpose of displaying Pakistani folk songs was to make it more popular among the Gulf States. This was second Cultural Show celebrated by the Saudi Embassy and it each of the Gulf States would play co-host every year to celebrate this show at Saudi Embassy in Islamabad. The show was concluded by speech delivered by Madam Al Areefi by thanking the guest for their keen interest in the Gulf Culture.
