Rawalpindi  - The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out 10 operations countrywide and recovered narcotics besides apprehending 11 persons, including a foreign lady. “ANF during operations seized 41kg Charas, 4.8kg heroin and 960grams Cocaine and arrested 11 persons, including a Philippines lady involved in drug trafficking, while seized 2 vehicles,” informed ANF Headquarters spokesman here on Thursday. “The worth of recovered drugs was approximately Rs131 million in international market,” he said.

According to him, the ANF Rawalpindi Road Check Team, while acting on information, intercepted a Suzuki FX taxi (GAH-3294) at Tramari Chowk and arrested an occupant of the taxi namely Ghulam Abbas, resident of Islamabad along with 4kg Charas.

ANF Lahore conducted raid at a house near Chowngi No.22, Welayatabad, Vehari Road, Multan and recovered 300gram Charas from the personal possession of a lady namely Fauzia Perveen.

ANF Lahore Airport Team intercepted a suspected shipment at Sky Net Air Cargo located at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore. During search of the shipment, 800gram heroin was recovered which was concealed inside the packing of ladies shirts, he said. He said that ANF Lahore Road Check Team stopped a Toyota GLI (VS-387) near Caltex Petrol Pump, Sargodha Road, Khushab. “Search of the car led to recovery of 2kg heroin concealed in gear box of the car,” he said, adding e driver of the car namely Syed Shabi-Ul-Hassanwas was arrested.

Similarly, he said, 3 local drug peddlers were held in a raid conducted at Grass Mandi, Multan and recovered 5.68kg Charas and 1kg heroin from the accused, including Muhammad Islam, Ghulam Shabir and Kamran, residents of Multan.

 He said that ANF also conducted raids in Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta and recovered narcotics. “Cases have been registered with ANF police stations and further investigations were under process,” he added.
