PESHAWAR - Ehtesab Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested ex-Minister of Excise & Taxation Liaqat Shabab son of Shams ur Rehman on the accumulation of assets movable and immovable which are disproportionate to his known source of income.

The investigation team of Ehtesab Commission has received tangible solid evidence with respect to his accumulation of assets during the period of his minister ship for Excise & Taxation.

His assets included plots, houses, bank accounts, agriculture land, vehicles and unjustified bank transactions in his different bank accounts. According to a press release issued here today by Ehtesab Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, his arrest was essentially required for the ongoing investigation.

 He will be produced in Ehtesab Commission Court for further remand.



National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday arrested Muhammad Yasir of Lower Dir who in the garb of Islamic mode of business i.e. Mudaraba allegedly cheated public at large and looted millions of rupees from innocent people fraudulently.

During the course of inquiry it was revealed that the accused person lured general public to invest their money in the fake Muddaraba business on the promise that they would be paid huge profit on their investment.

The accused person after few months not only stopped paying profits but also refused to pay back original invested money of innocent people and disappeared from the scene.

The accused will be produced before accountability court Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand. Any person who has any claims against the accused Muhammad Yasir is requested to submit their claims with relevant documents to NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PDA Complex, Hayatabad Peshawar without any delay.
