Lawyers are the protectors of law whereas police officers implement it. Both of these groups have a duty to serve the sanctity of law but what happened in Daska was humiliating. An SHO was killed, two lawyers, one president Daska Bar Association were also killed. Lawyers responded by becoming very aggressive, they burnt the house of the Assistant Commissioner and also the DSP and TMO offices were set on fire. Lawyers in Lahore blocked Mall Road and tried to enter in Punjab Assembly. In other cities lawyers beat any policeman they found. This is complete anarchy. Chief Justice, on the appeal of the members of different bars ordered that there should be Ranger appointed outside the courts. Where is the state in all this? Where is government and where is rule of law? All this makes one believe that both; the lawyers and the policemen are not fulfilling their duties.
