ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has directed for preparation of a people friendly, development and welfare-oriented budget to enable the people to get maximum benefits from the economic gains made by the PML-N government in the last two years.

The Prime Minister said this while chairing a meeting regarding budget for financial year 2015-16 at the PM House here on Thursday. Nawaz Sharif emphasized that maximum allocations be made for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) to implement the ongoing projects and initiate new ones including those under the CPEC and full allocations for energy projects so that there was no delay in their completion. He said the government intends to start work on the Diamer-Bhasha dam during the next financial year.  In addition he said it must be ensured that there was no burden on the common man in the budget.

 Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Secretary Finance and Chairman FBR attended the meeting along with other senior government officials.
