Swabi: Unidentified miscreants today have gunned down at least two locals in the ongoing election campaign for the local body (LB) polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to the details, unidentified criminals opened fire in a joint campaign conducted by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Saleem Khan Union Council (UC).

Resultantly, one member of each party was killed while another worker of JI was injured. However, the culprits managed to abscond from the crime scene.

The bodies of the killed and injured have been shifted to a hospital.

The police registered a case against the unidentified attackers and have initiated a probe into the matter.
