Rana Sanaullah set to rejoin Punjab cabinet

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to induct two new ministers into his Cabinet, sources in the Punjab government said on Thursday.
Former Punjab minister for law Rana Sanaullah who recently got a clean chit from the joint investigation team on Model Town killings, would be given his previous portfolio of law and parliamentary affairs.
Currently, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman is looking after the affairs of this department.
Rana Sanaullah was stripped of his ministerial slot after he was accused of having a role in Model Town incident last year.
In its report released last week, the JIT cleared the names of prime minister, Punjab chief minister who were not found directly involved in the incident.
Dr Ayesha Ghous Pasha who is member of the assembly on a reserved seat for women, is likely to be elevated as minister for finance.
She would be the first woman in Punjab’s political history to have served as finance minister, a slot presently held by Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman.
He would now be left with the portfolio of excise and taxation department. The new ministers are most likely to take oath of their offices on Friday (today).
Punjab Governor Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana would administer the oath.
Official sources have hinted at induction of some more ministers into the Cabinet after the announcement of Punjab budget.
