Another Dharna?

Imran khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf disclosed that they are all set for another ‘dharna’, in a recent press conference in April. Pakistan is a country where political stability and peace becomes a dream. No doubt dharna is more of like a fever in Pakistan… as a fever is always contagious and comes due to viral attack but vanishes after completing its cycle without giving any thing to the victim except irksome. Similar is the case with dharna.

Nothing could ever come out of these pathetic dharna’s, except trouble for the public. I remember during the most recent dharna by our so called Molvi’s in front of parliament, there was no network in the capital for three days. I was in my university’s hostel waiting anxiously for the network to start so that I could call my mother because she was unwell. Many of our educational institutes remained close because of all that drama.

If we look at the public protests across the globe, from the “Boston tea party” of 1773 to “The orange revolution” in late 2004, whenever people came out on roads a massive revolution greeted them but here I guarantee it will further aggravate the country’s reputation across the world. Sharif brothers will continue their corruption, Judiciary will remain unjust, debt on the country will continue to rise and last but not the least no one will ever resign.

No doubt Imran Khan has done a lot for Pakistan with a clear record but still 70% of his gang fellows are unscrupulous and duplicitous. It is a request from majority of Pakistani’s that please stop this dharna movement and plan any other strategy.

FAIZA LATIF,

Lahore, April 15.
