LAHORE - Federal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Maula Bakhsh Chandio on Monday asked PML-N President Nawaz Sharif to fulfill his promise made with the people that present set up would be allowed to complete its five-year term. If he has realized the promise of not doing politics for 10 years made with dictator Musharraf, he should also fulfill the commitment made with the people regarding completion of five-year tenure of present government, he remarked while talking to reporters at Allama Iqbal International Airport on his arrival in the City. The federal minister advised Nawaz Sharif to show patience and wait for the elections due in 2013. He believed that PML-N chief was desperate to reach PM House through early elections. To a question, Chandio said that Mian Nawaz Sharif had first demanded Haqqanis resignation and a probe into the matter; but now, he had gone a step further by seeking courts intervention into the matter. He said the move by PML-N chief had no logic as an inquiry on the issue was already in progress. When asked about Babar Awans alleged intervention into the ministry of law, Maula said that there was no harm in benefiting from the expertise of an experienced politician. To a question about Presidents letter to CJP on ZAB reference, he said it should not be interpreted as confrontation with the judiciary. Responding to a question Shamsi Air Base, the minister said that government had taken a bold stance by demanding vacation of the air strip.
