At least eight persons including three women were killed and 15 other injured in different incidents of violence, honour killing and road mishaps over the past 48 hours.
According to details, unidentified armed assailants murdered three persons over enmity here on Thursday.
According to details, unidentified armed assailants opened indiscriminate firing on three persons including Chaudhry Mehdi Khan Gujjar, a resident of village Chattanwala and his two companions Thursday after noon, killing all three instantly. The Dinga Police have shifted the dead body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kharian for post-mortem. The police started investigation into the incident while no case could be registered till filling of this report.
Similarly in Sheikhupura, an 18-year-old youth was killed on resistance during a dacoity in Ferozewattwan in wee hours of Thursday. According to reports, three armed dacoits barged into the house Ali Hassan when he was asleep and started collecting valuables. However, Ali Hassan attempted to overpower them at which the culprits fired gunshots on him, killing him on the spot. The Bhiki Police have started investigation.
In another incident, the Muridke Saddr Police found a dead body packed in a gunny bag. The body was lying in a field near village Kathian Wala. Both identity and motive behind the murder could not be ascertained yet. The police are looking into the matter.
Meanwhile, an intermediate girl student committed suicide after taking poisonous pills over a domestic dispute in Muridke the other day. The deceased Misbah was reprimanded by her mother due to not taking care about her study at which she disappointed and ended her life.
In another incident, more than 10 labourers sustained injuries, three of them seriously, when henchmen of the factory owner attacked them while protesting against non-payment of salaries. According to details, the labourers after being gathered in front of a textile mills located near Morr Joinawala were protesting against the factory administration. Meanwhile, unidentified people equipped with batons and iron rods attacked them, injuring three of them. They are identified as Irfan, Arslan, Zaheer Abbas, Muneer and others. The Housing Colony Police looking into the matter.
LOOTED: Some unidentified burglars broke into a jewellery shop and took away gold ornaments weighing 30 tolas and cash here in Manawala Town on Thursday. The Police have started investigation on the complaint of owner Ali Asghar.
In Jhang, a man gunned down his sister for honour in Jhok Kalra area. Zahida Bibi, a resident of Jhok Kalra was married off to her cousin sometime ago but in the meanwhile she had developed illicit relations with someone of the same village due to which she got divorce and resettled with her uncle at which her brother Mulazim Hussain was very grieved. To avenge the disgrace, he opened firing on his sister killing her on the spot. In another incident which took place in Mauza Kaki Nau in the remit of Shorkot City Police, a man gunned down his wife over a petty family dispute. Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Mauza Kaki Nau got marriage with Nazia seven years back. The other night the couple quarrelled over a petty family issue at which he flared up and opened indiscriminate firing on his wife, killing her on the spot.
In another road mishap which took place on Jhang-Gojra Road near bypass at least five people were injured. As per details, a speeding vego pick-up which was going from Multan to Bhuwana collided with a tractor-trolley coming from opposite direction. Resultantly five Vego Dalla riders sustained critical wounds. The injured were rushed to DHQ Hospital.
