KARACHI  - Eight people were gunned down in separate incidents here on Thursday.
A worker of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat was shot dead at Mehmoodabad No 6.
Police said the victim was on his way when at least two armed riders opened fire on him and escaped. Police shifted him to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced his death. Police believed the incident was occurred over sectarian basis. Further investigation was underway.   
A rickshaw driver namely Rafaqat Hussain, 42, was gunned down near football ground, Chanesar Goth. Police said the victim was sitting at the said place when two armed riders shot him dead and fled. Police suspected the incident occurred over personal dispute. Further investigation was underway.
An owner of tea shop was shot dead in Kashmir Colony. Police said the victim was returning home from his workplace when unidentified armed culprits targeted him. Police said the robbers shot him dead when he offered resistance. The culprits managed to flee from the scene.
A man namely Tariq Ismail was gunned down at the bus stop of Matric Board Office within the jurisdictions of North Nazimabad police station. Police said the victim was standing at the bus stop when at least two armed riders came close to him and shot him dead. They managed to escape from the scene. However, the police have failed to ascertain the motive behind the incident.    
A transporter was gunned down in Gulbai locality within the jurisdiction of SITE-B police station. Police said the victim was identified as 30-year-old Raza Muhammad, resident of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Police said the victim was going somewhere, when some unidentified armed men targeted him. He died on the spot. the body was taken to Civil Hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his family. Police suspected extortion the motive behind the killing.
Moreover, a bullet-riddled body of a man was found from Super Highway. Police said after getting information police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to hospital for autopsy. Police said some unidentified culprits after kidnapping shot him dead and later threw his body. The body was later moved to morgue for identification.
Similarly, a body of a man was found from Link Road within the jurisdictions of Malir Cantt police station. Police said the identity of the victim has yet to be ascertained. Police said the body was 10 to 12 days old. It was shifted to hospital for autopsy and later moved to morgue for identification.
A slaughtered body of a man was found from Sector 16-A, Bufferzone. Police said shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem. Police said the victim was identified as 45-year-old Saleem aka Foji. Police said some unidentified culprits, on personal enmity, barged into the house and slaughtered him and later fled. Saleem was a retired civilian worker of Pakistan Navy and was living alone after retirement, said the police.
