PESHAWAR - Taking strong exception to Begum Naseem Wali Khan Press conference, leaders of Awami National Party on Thursday reiterated that they were united under the leadership of Asfandyar Wali Khan and would thwart all conspiracies being hatched aimed at weakening the party.

In this connection an important meeting of Awami National Party was held in Wali Bagh Charasdda, which was chaired by Senator Haji Adeel. Awami National Party central leader Asfandyar Wali Khan, ANP provincial leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain and members of organising committee were present on the occasion.  The ANP leadership also expressed confidence in the membership process of ANP and appealed to youth to take full participation in the process.

Addressing on the occasion, Central President ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan said that the region would face multiple challenges after 2014 scenario as a result of US pullout from Afghanistan. He said that nuclear deal between Iran and six major powers would have far reaching repercussions on Pakistan. He said that situation is also changing in Afghanistan as Aghan Loya Jarga will soon finalise a deal with USA regarding the future of Afghanistan.

Asfandyar Wali Khan expressed severe concern over the lack of proper policy regarding drone strikes in Pakistan and NATO supply. He said that NATO supply starts from Karachi and after passing through Sindh and Punjab, reaching Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that blockade of NATO supply has badly affected the business activities in the province and why PTI workers does not stop NATO supply in Karachi and Sindh instead of blocking it in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He informed that PTI leadership has given the law into the hand of their own workers and they are making hasty decisions without taking central government into confidence.

Asfandyar also criticised the government for delaying local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that new government is putting burden on national exchequer for amending the local government Act. He said that the gap between law enforcement agencies and PTI government have been widened due to which the performance of police is not up to the mark.

He also stressed the federal government for holding local bodies’ elections in FATA in order to remove the sense of deprivation of the people of FATA. He also demanded the Balochistan government to take steps for the recovery of Abdul Zahir Kansi.
