Iqbal compliments Pak team on win

KARACHI - Former chief selector Iqbal Qasim complimented Misbahul Haq and his Pakistan team for incredible and historic triumph which gave them their first one-day series win over Protease in a quarter of century.
"Certainly, it was grand, fighting and thrilling win for Pakistan team," he said while commenting on Pakistan's one-run win over South Africa in Port Elizabeth, on Thursday. "It was astonishing and unbelievable win as Pakistan pulled victory from the jaws of defeat," he remarked.
"The way team has shown the fight, there are bright chances for Pakistan to go for clean-sweep," he said. "Each and every member of the team deserved the credit for the remarkable win and showed fighting qualities till the last," he added. He said clicking of Pakistani batting was a great sign despite departure of Nasir Jamshed and Muhammad Hafeez.  Former Test left arm spinner was of the view that it was heartening performances from team's young guns. "There was more energy and inspiration in the team after their victory in Cape Town," he observed. He praised Ahmed Shahzad for his brilliant ton and good contributions from Sohaib Maqsood, Umar Akmal even Bilawal Bhatti and Anwar Ali quickly in the death overs.
He was full of praise for world class bowler Saeed Ajmal and left arm pacemen Junaid for producing two-match winning overs. "At one time it looked match was slipping away from Pakistan. But, Saeed and Junaid kept their cool under pressure."
In the meantime, former Pakistan captain M Yousuf and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar showered praise on Pakistan team for their great victory. "Our batting worked with Ahmed Shahzad leading the way and bowlers delivered under pressure which fantastic," Shoaib said.
M Yousuf advised Nasir Jamshed and M Hafeez to go domestic circuit to regain form and work on their weak areas. He expressed the hope that new youngsters will be provided opportunities and they will be groomed. He said both all-rounders Anwar Ali and Bilawal Bhatti are good addition to the team.
