Prof Farakh Khan passes away



LAHORE: Well-known urologist and writer Prof Dr Farkah A Khan passed away on Thursday. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. He is cousin of famed cricketers Imran Khan, Majid Khan and imminent journalist Khaled Ahmed.
He was also awarded with Sitara-e-Imtiaz. He was widely successful doctor at King Edward Medical College. He also served the Pakistan cricket team as doctor. He wrote a highly regarded book regarding medical administration, “Waiting for Orders: Organisation Culture and Social Anthropology of Medicine in Pakistan” (2000). Recently, he launched his second book titled ‘Murree during the Raj’. His later years, gave back to the community, Prof Khan helped start the Murree Museum which he was also chairman of the museum.
During his younger days, he was also a talented sportsman who played first-class cricket and was cited by Sarfraz Nawaz as one of the people who taught him reverse swing.  His funeral will be held today (Friday) at 3pm at his house, 1a, White House ln 2, Sundar Das Lahore near Zaman Park.–PR
