Asfand asks Imran to honour others’ mandate

PESHAWAR - Awami National Party (ANP) Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan has alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has stolen their public mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but “we accepted the results only to save the system”.
“Imran Khan, not Nawaz Sharif, has stolen our mandate. Imran should accept Nawaz Sharif’s mandate in the Center and Punjab, so, we would accept his mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said this while addressing ANP’s workers convention here on Friday.
He said that they were not supporting Nawaz and his government, but the democratic system in the country. He said that they would always resist unconstitutional steps meant for derailing the democratic process.
Asfandyar Wali said that he has never seen a non-political person like Imran Khan throughout his life. He said that the provincial government has completely ignored the problems of the masses and got busy in the sit-in in Islamabad.
He said that Imran was a master of U-turn. First he abused the judiciary and then moved the same courts to seek justice. He alleged that the provincial government has left the internally displaced people in the lurch. He appealed to the Pakhtun leaders of different political forces to get united and find out a solution for the problem of Waziristan and the displaced tribal people.Regarding the statement of Pervez Elahi about Kalabagh dam, he said that they would not allow anyone to even think about construction of the dam that is aimed at the destruction of the Pakhtun nation.
Speaking on the occasion provincial president of the party Ameer Haider Hoti said that the so-called well-wishers of the Pakhtuns could not do anything for the well-being of the people during their rule.
