Kidman happy to play the villain

Hawaii (BFT): Nicole Kidman has revealed she was always keen to play a villain, like her evil character Millicent in Paddington. The actress took on the role of a terrifying taxidermist in the children’s film and admitted she was more than happy to be the baddie. She said of the costume: ‘I got to wear this cool outfit - I think Paddington says I have a snake body and an elephant head.’ Talking about her love of villains, Nicole said: ‘It’s always part of the fairytale, the wicked witch, Maleficent, all of the characters that are evil, that are bad, and you’re drawn to them.

‘Even the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz was so intriguing to me because she was terrifying, but you still wanted to watch her and know more about her. So it’s that push-pull always.’ Asked whether she dreamed of being the wicked witch in Oz rather than heroine Dorothy.

I am growing up: Kendrick

Portland (BEL): Anna Kendrick has admitted she and her Pitch Perfect 2 cast mates feel ‘older’ now because they crave tea instead of alcohol. The 29-year-old actress has been working hard on her latest movie Pitch Perfect 2, alongside her cast mates and friends from the original film. And she says she feels her age because of how they behave when they’re together this time around. ‘You can tell we’re all older because we’re not going out and drinking,’ she told Access Hollywood in an interview on set. Anna stars in the hit musical comedy alongside Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin and Brittany Snow. This is the second time they’ve worked on set together, and the Twilight star says she notices a difference.  ‘The first one was like, ‘party time USA!’ and this time it’s like, ‘I’m exhausted I need a chamomile tea,’’ she laughed.

Rita Ora tired after reaching London

London  (MOL): She was accused of looking like a ‘man in drag’ by furious Fifty Shades Of Grey fans when the first-look picture of her in the upcoming movie adaptation was released. And Rita Ora didn’t seem her usual upbeat self as she headed home after a long day in the recording studio in London on Thursday. The How We Do singer was also uncharacteristically dressed down in a very casual outfit. Rita, who never normally leaves the house without a slick of red lipstick, had toned her make-up down and kept her peroxide blonde hair covered by a hat. But it was her outfit that was the biggest shocker since there was no trace of her famously outlandish and multi-coloured clothes. The star instead opted for a sombre, head-to-toe black look comprising a baggy jumper, jeans and thigh-high leather boots.

Reid tops 2014 celebrity searches

London (BFT): Susanna Reid has beaten the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and One Direction to become the UK’s most searched celebrity of 2014. The Good Morning Britain presenter, who finished second in the 2013 series of Strictly Come Dancing, led Yahoo’s Year in Review 2014 rankings, gleaned from billions of online searches on the website over the course of the year. Her popularity on the internet comes on the back of her stint on Strictly, where the 43-year-old mother-of-three - who has separated from husband Dominic Cotton - was partnered with Kevin Clifton. Hunger Games star Jennifer took second place in the list, followed by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and Katie Price in third and fourth spots respectively. Former Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini came fifth with Kelly Brook.
