LAHORE - Zeeshan Abbasi and Haroon helped Pakistan defeat India by seven wickets in the first match of the Blind Cricket World Cup 2014 played at Wally Wilson Cricket Ground (Western Province Cricket Club) Cape Town South Africa. According to information made available here on Friday, Pakistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. They got the first breakthrough when Zeeshan bowled India's most threatening batsman Parkash in the first over of the match. They bowled and fielded splendidly and didn't allow the Indian batsmen to free their arms and bowled them out for 259 runs in 35.1 overs. Ajay Reddy was their top scorer with 71 runs while Venkatesh contributed 63 and Jaffar lqbal added 36. Zeshan claimed his career-best figures with 4-23 in eight overs while Anees Javed took 2-24. Pakistan's start wasn't good either as they lost two wickets on mere 22 runs on the board. Badar Munir and Amir Ishfaq fell cheaply. Then M Jamil and Haroon built a partnership for the third wicket. Jameel got out after scoring superb 74 runs off 53 balls while Haroon remained unbeaten on 84 runs. Anees Javed also batted brilliantly and hammered unbeaten 52 runs. Shekhar Naik took one wicket. Haroon was declared man of the match for his superb batting performance.
