ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has speed up its operation against the grey trafficking in the country and has raided several illegal gateway exchanges across the country to follow the suit.
In its ongoing efforts to control grey trafficking unearthed three illegal gateway exchanges at Lahore, Khushab and Bhakkar. According to details, three successful raids against the grey operators were carried out along with FIA teams at Lahore, Khushab and Bhakkar.  
Team confiscated 20 illegal VoIP exchanges from these cities. It is important that main supplier of SIMs and Gateways were also arrested and in FIA custody for further investigation. More raids are being planned.
The successful raids against the grey operators were made possible because of continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic thus curtailing the loss to the national exchequer.
Grey trafficking has become a mouth watering illicit business for the white collar criminals across the country.
It involves no risk of life as compared to other smuggling businesses. PTA and FIA jointly are trying to abolish this illegal activity that projected a mushroom growth during recent years.
