RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s new Army Chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Tuesday that the situation at the Line of Control will improve soon. At the same time he made it clear that they would not hesitate to give every sacrifice for the defence of the country.
General Bajwa unofficially spoke to reporters after taking over as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) from General Raheel Sharif.
He said a heavy responsibility has been put on his shoulders and with the blessing of Allah Almighty he would do his level best to fulfill the responsibility. He said Pakistan army is one of the best in the world and its morale is high.
COAS General Bajwa called on the media for their support, asking them to play a positive role as it has an important role in the society and to boost the morale of the nation and the armed forces. General Bajwa said he would be holding a meeting with representatives of the media soon.
Asked to comment on the statement of former Indian army chief General Bikram Singh in which he praised him, the army chief thanked him for his appreciation.
