Punjab CM assigns new portfolios to ministers, advisers

LAHORE -  Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif yesterday assigned portfolios to newly inducted 12 ministers and reshuffled the departments of nine old ministers.

According to an official notification, Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman has been given additional charge of Information and Culture department. He will continue to hold the charge of excise and taxation department.

Charge of irrigation department has been taken away from Mian Yawar Zaman and he has been allocated the department of Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries.

Charge of Housing and Urban development has been taken away from Tanvir Aslam Malik and now he has been assigned the control of Communication and Works department.

Atta Muhammad Maneka has been given the portfolio of Revenue by taking away from him the charge of Auqaf department. 

Charge of Zakat and Ushar has been taken away from Malik Nadeem Kamran and he has been given the charge of P&D. He will also hold additional charge housing, urban development and public health engineering.

The department of Forestry has been taken away from Asif Saeed Manis and he has been given the department of Livestock and Dairy Development. 

The Industries department has been taken away from Ch Muhammad Shafiq and he has been given the new portfolio of Special Education.

Muhammad Asif Malik has been given Archeology department.

Department of Agriculture has been taken back from Dr Farrukh Javid and he has been assigned the portfolio of Literacy and Non-formal Basic Education.

New Ministers

The portfolios of the new ministers are: Jehangir Khanzada, Youth Affairs and Sports, Syed Zaeem Qadri,Auqaf and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Alauddin, Industries, Commerce and Investment, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Specialized Health Care and Medical Education, Mehar Ejaz Ahmad, Disaster Management Department, Malik Ahmad Yar Hanjra, Prison, Muhammad Manshaullah Butt, Local Government and Community Development, Naghma Mushtaq, ZaKAT &Usher, Syed Raza Ali Gilani, Higher Education and Amanullah Khan Shadikhail, Irrigation Department, Muhammad Naeem Akhtar Khan, Agriculture and Khawaja Imran Nazir Primary and Secondary Health.

Advisers and Special Assistants

Rana Maqbool has been made adviser on Public Prosecution and Rai Haider Ali Khan on Tourism

MPA Ch Muhammad Arshad Jatt has been made Special Assistant for Colonies and Consolidation, and Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan for Information and Culture.
