Karachi Marriott’s spirit to preserve sea turtles for healthier oceans

KARACHI (PR): Earlier this month, a group of twenty-five employees from Karachi’s Marriott visited Hawksbay Beach in Karachi with the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) Wetland Center, where they were given a complete awareness session on turtle breeding, preservation, and their future. Each employee during this visit planted a mangrove, adding up to a total of twenty-five trees. A small donation was also made to the WWF to support their projects, as Karachi Marriott, being part of the Hashoo Group under its Corporate Social Responsibility, is working toward the betterment of communities.

This activity under the banner of ‘Spirit to Preserve’ was part of Marriott’s way of paying back to the community. Marriott has in the past and will continue to collaborate with The WWF Wetland program. It may have been twenty-five employees but the impact it will make when the same awareness is shared amongst colleagues, families and further into communities will surely play a part in making a difference. Since it is only when communities comprehend the seriousness of the matter will we take measures to preserve the marine ecosystem.
