PM to present 100-day performance report today

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan will present his government’s 100 days performance report today (Thursday) and will also unfold the future course of his team and its strategy to go about the ambitious agenda of development and governance.

An event at the Convention Centre Islamabad is organised where Prime Minister along with his cabinet colleagues would present the performance of his government over the past 100 days and also referred to the mammoth challenges facing them when they took over the reins of power, especially on economic front.

For the past week or so the ministries and divisions had prepared their progress report and came under discussion in the meetings with Prime Minister.

Insiders in the government informed that Prime Minister had expressed overall satisfaction of his government’s performance during the first 100 days in power and he would sector wise highlight the achievements of his governments.

Prime Minister would also admit the shortcomings in his performance and would give reasons for not coming up to the mark in some areas.

In a series of meetings held to review and scrutinise the achievements and targets set for various sectors a comprehensive report was prepared.

The meeting further scrutinised the margin of accomplishing set targets, individual progress reports of ministries and other related divisions, implementation of cabinet decisions, austerity measures and public welfare projects announced by federal ministries.

PM Imran Khan had also received a 100-day performance report of different ministries, outlining ‘feats and failures’ of the ministers in 100 days of governance.

According to the report, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed and Minister of State for Communications Murad Saeed appeared to be having a tough contest in terms of edging past one another.

The report says that both the ministers completed their 100-day tasks in time. The ministry headed by Sheikh Rasheed registered an income of more than Rs2 billion while Murad Saeed’s ministry saw an addition of Rs3 billion to the revenue in first 100 days in office.

Moreover, the PTI-led government launched a website for a public to know progress about the PTI’s 100-day agenda.

A ruling party MNA informed that Premier Khan would share the achievements of each and every sector with nation while also take the masses into confidence on the future targets to be achieved in coming months.

The 100-day plan mainly focused on six areas including transforming governance, strengthening the federation, revitalising economic growth, developing agriculture and conserving water, revolutionising social service and ensuring national security.
