Government provoking workers by obstructing peaceful rallies
ISLAMABAD - Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani yesterday said that Pakistan People’s Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was the hope for the future.
Speaking at an event here where Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) leader Sardar Wahab Sultan joined the PPP, Gilani said the PPP was a political democratic party with a history of sacrifices.
“The democratic system in the country is the result of the sacrifices and struggle of the PPP leadership and workers,” he added.
Welcoming Sardar Wahab Sultan to the PPP, the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, said that during the PPP era, major public welfare projects were launched in every part of the country without any discrimination, especially in South Punjab. PPP Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari was also present on the occasion.
Bukhari said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari hopes for a bright future of Pakistan. Bilawal Bhutto is a powerful voice of people’s rights.
He said that joining the party of Sardar Wahab Sultan is welcome. Sardar Wahab Sultan said that he was convinced of the struggle and courage of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto for the people’s rights. Sardar Wahab Sultan said that he would work day and night for strengthening of PPP.
Separately, Bukhari said in a statement that stopping the PPP Peshawarrally would not be possible.
He said that PPP celebrates its founding day every year. “The PPP is going to hold a peaceful meeting on its founding day. Government obstructions are unacceptable. The rulers should not dare to face the people’s power. The government is ready to go home,” he added.
He said the government was provoking workers by obstructing the peaceful rallies. “I am here in Peshawar to finalise arrangements. I will remain in Peshawar till November 30,” he remarked.
