ISLAMABAD - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Sirajul Haq has said that the military establishment provided backing for the formation of incumbent and former governments in Pakistan.
While addressing a march of workers organised by JI youth, Siraj ul Haq said that establishment should stop interfering in politics if it wants to avoid public criticism. The JI Youth Pakistan organised the march of unemployed educated people from across the country in the capital to protest against the joblessness and inflation. Thousands of participants of the march raised slogans against the anti-youth policies, the protestors marched from Embassy Road to D-Chowk and vowed to continue struggle for their rights until the rulers ensure provision of their rights. Sirajul Haq said it had been proved after three years that PTI lacked capacity and vision to run the country. He said that unemployment and inflation were uncontrolled and more than 20 million children were out of schools due to poverty, he said, adding the ruling elite never paid attention to the common man’s issues whether it was the government of the PTI or the former regimes of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). The JI chief said the people from Karachi to Gwadar were protesting for their rights but the rulers were not willing to listen to their demands. He demanded the government to address the demands of fishermen of Gwadar and ensure compensation to the Nasla Town affectees. He also raised the issue of missing persons, reminding the prime minister his old claims about the long lingering tragedy. He said the rulers must address the deprivations of the people of Balochistan.
He hailed the struggle of the JI Karachi chapter Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rahman and JI Balochistan chapter Secretary General Maulana Hidayatur Rahman for fighting for the rights of the residents of Karachi and Gwadar.
Sirajul Haq maintained that the nation must stand for their rights and launch a peaceful struggle to get rid of the ruling elite. He added that youth instead of being hopeless, should fight against the oppressors. He concluded that the country could not go ahead without sending home the feudal lords and agents of the status quo.
