Khurram, Saleh start with wins in World Snooker

KARACHI (APP) - Pakistan cueists Khurram Agha and Saleh Muhammad got off to sterling start in the IBSF World Snooker Championship in Wels (Austria), according to a message received here on Tuesday. Former Pakistan number one Khurram Agha looked in impressive touch as he thrashed Craig Steadman of England 4-1. Khurram demonstrated fine cue control and chalked out the breaks of 73 and 53 while notching up victory. Former World number two Saleh Muhammad was taken to full distance by Egyptian Mohamed Elhamy before emerging 4-3 winner. Experienced Saleh kept his nerves in a tight situation and potted well in the decider to record a thrilling win. Saleh made a break of 50 during the match. Julian Logue of Northern Ireland made sensational start in the championship by smashing a break of 138 in his 4-0 win over David Perez of Spain.
