LAHORE - Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has directed to constitute a joint commission comprising representatives of the government and Private Schools Association to adopt a joint strategy with mutual consultation for security arrangements at educational institutions. He was talking to a representative delegation of Private Schools Association, which met him on Wednesday. Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Inspector General of Police, Home Secretary, Secretary Higher Education and Secretary Schools were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that a joint strategy would be adopted with the consultation of administration and Private Schools Association for security arrangements at educational institutions and a close coordination would also be ensured. He said that Secretary Schools and Secretary Higher Education would be bound to maintain a close contact with the representatives of Private Schools Association and provide them necessary information about security arrangements. He said that security arrangement at educational institutions was a collective responsibility so that students could pursue their educational activities in a peaceful atmosphere. He said that private educational institutions would depute trained and qualified security guards of security agencies approved by the Punjab government as refresher courses were especially conducted for the training of approved security agencies at Elite Training School. The delegates while expressing their views said that maintenance of law and order was a collective responsibility and they would extend all out cooperation to the government regarding security arrangements. The delegation of Private Schools Association comprised Dr Neelam Hussain, Rahmat Qureshi, Nighat Ali, Samina Rehman, Saltanat Bukhari, Musarat Salamat, Anjum Ahmad, Nazi Qureshi, Dr Farzana Feroz, Shehla Saqib, Daniyal Kasuri, Kamran as well as others. Vice-Chancellor Punjab University and Principal Aitchison College were also present on the occasion.
