Pak, Afghanistan sign Transit Trade Agreement in Kabul

ISLAMABAD (APP) Pakistan and Afghanistan on Thursday signed Pak-Afghan Transit Trade Agreement for boosting bilateral trade and exports for the benefit of the people of the two countries. According to a message received here from Kabul (Afghanistan), the agreement was inked by Pakistani Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim on behalf of government of Pakistan while Afghan Commerce Minister Anwarul Haq Ahadi signed the agreement on behalf of his country. US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke also witnessed the signing ceremony. After signing of the agreement, Makhdoom Amin Fahim also called on President Hamid Karzai and discussed with him matters of mutual interest with special reference to strengthening of trade relations between the two brotherly countries. It may be mentioned here that the cabinets of the two countries have accorded approval to the new Pak-Afghan Transit Trade which was formally signed by the two countries in Kabul on Thursday.
