General Tyre to set up plant in north as well

KARACHI : The chairman of the General Tyre, Lt Gen (r) Ali Kuli Khan Khattak has said that company has a plan to set up a manufacturing plant in the North `where we could produce some new products to supplement our current range and add more profitability’. He was addressing a gathering to commemorate 50 years of General Tyres, said a statement issued here on Monday. He was of the view that despite several challenges and tough operating environment, the local tyre industry has strengthened the economy by not only saving foreign exchange while fulfilling local demand but also earning the much needed foreign exchange by increasing the exports.
`General Tyre and Rubber Company alone contributed around Rs 16.5 billion to national exchequer in three decades and emerged as leading and most trusted tyre brand of the country’, he added.
`Insha Allah, I am sure our dedicated workforce led by their able captain will help me realise my dream of setting up a plant in North‘, Chairman General Tyre further remarked.
