Gujranwala- A team of Rescue 1122, comprising eight vehicles, and carrying medicines and relief equipment set off for quake-hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

The team is consisted of 65 personnel and is the third team sent to the quake-devastated areas for relief activities so far.

Punjab Emergency Services DG Brig (r) Dr Arshad Zia said that Rescue 1122 has been tasked by the Punjab government with providing relief to earthquake victims. Under the directives, three rescue teams and 35 vehicles, carrying medicines and other necessities of daily-use have been sent to the affected areas. "A total of 250 rescue officials to take part in the relief operation in affected areas of KP province," he explained.
