KARACHI: At least five students were wounded in a clash between the rival student organizations occurred within the campus of Karachi University.

Following the information, extra contingent of law enforcers reached the site and calms the situation down. Police officials said that no student was killed as the students’ organization’s members did not use guns during a clash, adding that a few students were slightly injured as they used sticks and batons during a clash. Mobina Town SHO Zafar Abbas said that the clash occurred between the students of the two student organisations – Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba and Punjabi Students’ Association. The officer said that the students belonging to PSA were busy in playing cricket when the IJT students came and a fight erupted between both the organizations’ members over unexplained reasons, adding that three members of the both organizations while two spectators female students were also wounded. No case has been registered while further investigation was underway.
