PM, Iranian SNSC Secretary discuss issues of fighting terrorism, security on joint border

ISLAMABAD: Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Secretary Supreme National Security Council of Iran called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at PM House on Thursday. In order to discuss matters regarding, fighting terrorism and security situation in the region and securing Pak-Iran border.

The Prime Minster said, that Pakistan and Iran are brotherly countries and share deep historic and cultural ties. He added, that Chabahar and Gawadar ports shall be sister ports and their operational activity shall complement each other.

The Prime Minster said,that Pakistan has rendered invaluable sacrifices in war against terrorism and Operation Zarb e Azb is yielding very positive and fruitful results.

The Iranian National Security Secretary Mr. Ali said, that terrorism has no boundaries and it is a common enemy of both the countries, Furthermore, he added that a stable Afghanistan is in the best interest of both Iran and Pakistan.

Secretary Ali, said that there is a lot of scope in enhancing co-operation in economics and communication areas between the countries. He said that Pakistan and Iran shall establish Fiber Optic link between them.

The two sides expressed grief and sorrow with each other over the tragic incidence of Mina, in which citizens of both countries passed away.
