ISLAMABAD - Sara Mansoor, Sarah Mahboob Khan, Iqra Nawab and Samman Latif qualified for the semifinals of the 5th Syed Tajammul Abbas Memorial National Ranking Tennis Championship 2015 ladies singles here at Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex on Wednesday.

Top seed Sara Mansoor and second seed Sarah Mahboob were in excellent form and won their matches without conceding a single game in both sets.

In the men’s singles pre-quarters, Aman Atiq upcoming junior player from Islamabad made the major upset when he eliminated sixth seed Usman Rafiq of Lahore in straight sets 6-4, 2-0 retired. Second seed Shahzad Khan won his match against Sheheryar Khan 6-1, 6-0 while M Abid registered straight sets victory against Abdal Haider of Lahore 6-0, 6-1, Heera Ashiq beat Mubarak Shah, top seed Aqeel Khan thrash Arham Atiq 6-0, 6-4, Yasir Khan eliminated Saqib Umer 6-2, 6-1, Ahmed Ch crushed Jibran ul Haq 6-0, 6-0 and Mudassar Murtaza beat Saeedul Haq 6-2, 7-5.

In the men's doubles quarterfinals, Yasir/Shahzad beat Mubarak Shah/Ahmed Murad 6-0,6-0; Aqeel/Heera beat Jibran ul Haq/Abdal Haider 6-0,6-0; M Abid/Babar Ali beat Kashan ul Haq/Arham Atiq 6-2,6-3; Muzammil/Mudassar beat Ahmed/Faizan Khurram 6-4,6-2.

In boys’ U-18 first round, Syed Nofil Kaleem beat Wahab Anwar 6-0,6-0, boy's U- 18 pre-quarterfinals: Muzammil beat Zain Mujahid 6-1,6-1; Barkatullah beat Ilham Khan 6-2,6-0; Aman Atiq beat Musa 6-1,6-0; Yousaf Khan beat Asadullah 7-5,6-4; Saqib Umer beat M Said 6-1,6-0; Hamza Bin Asif beat Ahmed Asjad 6-2,6-0; Shoaib Khan beat Abdul Rehman Amjad 6-1,6-0; Haris Irfan ul Haq beat Syed Nofil Kaleem 6-1,6-1, boy's U- 14 pre-quarterfinal: M Said beat Ahmad Nael 4-0,4-0; Hamza Roman beat Suraj Mirza 4-2,4-2; Sami Zaib beat M Huzaifa Khan 4-1,4-1.
