KARACHI : DP World, Karachi in collaboration with LKMWT (LatifKapadia Memorial Welfare Trust) had hosted a “Free Eye Screening Camp” for “Truck Drivers” at Port Qasim.
This camp was endeavored to create mass awareness amongst truckers about preventive care from eye diseases as well as early detection to ensure road safety. Pre-announcements were made to acknowledge the ‘Truck Driver’ about the camp. It was started from in morning and continued till evening, screened 241 patients and three major diseases Conjunctivitis, Myopia and Presbyopia were found common in them.
As many as 37 “Field workers” and 204 “Truck drivers” were provided awareness for prevention and medicine to care. 96 were suggested for focal glasses, 14 for reading optical and 4 were referred to the hospital for free surgery.
This eye camp is rightly reflecting the vision of DP World- protecting environment, investing on people, ensuring highest standards and building a vibrant, secure and resilient society.
