KAMALIA -  A meeting of District Peace Committee was held to review arrangements for chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) here the other day.

Kamalia AC Hafiz Muhammad Najeeb chaired the meeting which was attended by religious scholars, local bodies’ representatives and peace committee members. Addressing the meeting, the AC stressed collective efforts for maintaining peace on chehlum. He vowed to provide foolproof security to chehlum processions. He urged organisers of the processions to cooperate with the administration. The processions will be taken out as per schedule.

On the other hand, Anjuman Hussain Vice President Syed Saqlain Haider Kazmi, while addressing a press conference, said that a huge number of Zaireen go to Iran and Iraq for ziyarat and chehlam of Imam Hussain (RA) every year. These zaireen face serious difficulties and hardships due to insufficient travel facilities. He said that over seven million people are estimated to visit Iran and Iraq this year and they lack requisite air tickets. He told that these visitors will be forced to use other travel methods due to lower number of flights and shortage of air tickets. He demanded President and Prime Minister of Pakistan take serious notice of the situation and provide best travel facilities to zaireen. He demanded the government start special flights from Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Quetta, Islamabad and Peshawar so that zaireen could reach their destinations timely and safely.
