QUETTA - At least eleven people sustained injuries, two of them critical, in two separate bomb blasts in Quetta on Sunday. The first blast occurred when unknown persons visited a CD shop in Asif CDs center at Natha Singh Street on Masjid Road and left a shopper inside the shop which went off with a huge explosion soon after their departure. As a result, six people were wounded in the blast. The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital Quetta, where condition of two persons was stated to be critical. An injured person in civil hospital told The Nation that he was busy in purchasing of CDs when suddenly a huge explosion occurred and he was hit by many splinters on his leg and hands. Names of five injured were identified as Abid Hussian, Jamil Ahmed, Niamatullah, Kizar Hayat and Munir Ahmed. The second blast occurred in Dawood Shopping Center on Tola Ram Road, the most crowded shopping plaza of the city. Windowpanes of the centre were broken causing slight injuries to five people.Police and other law enforcement agencies rushed on the spot and started investigation. According to primary reports, the bomb was locally made. Blast at CDs centre was the first blast in Quetta. Earlier the owners of CD centres were given a threat by a religious organisation.
