Politicians, at all levels, please stop using the following oft-repeated terms in your speeches and press conferences; alleviation of poverty; inflation, independence of judiciary, and some of the Urdu words like 'azm', 'irrada', 'tahay'ya', 'ghurbat ka khat'tima', 'mehngai' etc. The TV anchorpersons should also avoid these terms for God's sake. They are meaningless and redundant and have lost their effect as meaningful words. Politicians are advised to coin fresh words and phrases to cheat the masses. -AMJAD HABIB MIRZA, Lahore, via e-mail, September 13.
