LAHORE - Pakistan was made in the name of Islam and to highlight this fact it is necessary that Independence Day should also be celebrated on Ramazan 27. Pakistan Movement worker, eminent journalist and Chairman Nazaria Pakistan Trust Majid Nizami stated this while addressing a function held at Aiwan-e-Karkunan Tehrik-e-Pakistan on Sunday on the occasion of Independence Day on Ramazan 27. The function was organised by NPT in cooperation with Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust. The function was attended by Pakistan Movement workers, students of different schools, colleges and universities and people from different walks of life. Nizami appreciated the passing of a resolution at the function that called for celebrating the Independence Day on Ramazan 27. "Along with celebrating the independence on August 14, we should also celebrate Ramazan 27 as Independence Day. Allah Almighty gifted us Pakistan on Ramazan 27. "We should not forget that we are Muslims and got Pakistan in the name of Islam. Quaid-e-Azam had said that we would make Pakistan for experimenting Islam. It is my demand from the government that along with August 14 the Independence Day should also be celebrated on Ramazan 27. We should also not forget that we got independence one day before India," Nizami said. He said we should pray to Allah Almighty that Pakistan should be made as envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. "Asif Zardari is our president and I called him Mard Hur. In USA he said Bush gave us peace. Are attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq and threats of war to Iran and Pakistan peace moves? If so Bush is then peacemaker and Allah Almighty take pity on our situation and give Zardari some wisdom," he said. Others who addressed on the occasion included Sajjada Nishi on Darbar Choora Sharif Pir Syed Muhammad Kabir Ali Shah, Vice chairman NPT Prof Dr Rafiq Ahmed, Chief Coordinator NPT Mian Azizul Haq Qureshi and Secretary NPT Shahid Rashid.
