It is very strange that instead of the government high ups, like President, Prime Minister or Foreign Minister, our Army Chief has taken over the duty of responding in the press to the American threat in our Tribal Areas. The political leadership should realize that it is their duty to safeguard the realm on political front. The job of Army Chief is to only act upon the directives of government for safeguarding the country. He is supposed to obey orders issued to him in accordance with the foreign and interior policies of the government. He is not supposed to issue political statements.
