LAHORE - SSP (Operations) Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed has directed the police officials to launch massive crackdown against such hotels and guesthouses operating as brothels and gambling dens in different parts of the provincial metropolis. He also said that strict action should be taken the management of such hotels and guesthouses. The SSP (Operations) stated this while addressing a high level meeting of senior police officers of the Operation wing here on Monday. The SSP further directed the SPs, SPOs and SHOs to hold open courts in their respective areas and redress the grievances of the people on priority basis. The SSP also directed the senior officers to step up crackdown against the proclaimed offenders and court absconders. The SSP also directed the officials to redress the grievances of those complainants appearing in open-courts on priority basis. He also directed them to ensure follow-up on the complaints so that justice could be provided to the victims. The SSP also directed the SP (Security) to monitor the performance of the policemen deployed at the police pickets set up at the entry and exit points of the City and take stick action against the policemen found involved in harassing the motorists in the name of checking of vehicles documents. He also said that close circuit TV cameras should be installed at all the important commercial centers, masajids, leading markets and departmental stores to keep a check on the activities of the criminals. All the SPs, SPOs and SHOs of the City police were present on this occasion.
