ROME (AFP) - President Asif Ali Zardari arrived Monday in Rome for a three-day visit where he will meet with Italian leaders as well as Pope Benedict XVI. Zardari was welcomed at Rome-Ciampino military airport by Italys Ambassador to Pakistan Vincenzo Prati and Pakistans representative in Italy Tasnin Aslam, the airport news agency Telenews reported. Zardari is scheduled to meet Tuesday (today) with Italys President Giorgio Napolitano and Foreign Minister Franco Frattini. On Wednesday (tomorrow), he will hold talks with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and the speaker of the lower house of parliament Gianfranco Fini, Pakistani sources said. On Thursday, Zardari will have an audience with the pope at Castel Gandolfo, the summer residence of the head of the Roman Catholic Church outside of Rome.
