FAISALABAD - Five persons of a family including three women were gunned down on Tuesday by their rivals in village Falahi on Jaranwala Road within the limits of police station Khurianwala. Police sources told TheNation that Anwar Roda along with others stormed into the house of Muhammad Riaz and resorted to indiscriminate firing, killing M Riaz, his wife Shamim Bibi, Nasreen, Sarwari Bibi and another man. They received fatal bullet injuries. The killers, however, managed to escape. Police have shifted the bodies to a hospital for autopsy besides registering a case. Raids were being conducted for the arrest of culprits. Meanwhile, the incident has created panic in the area and local people have protested the negligence and failure of police to control crime. They alleged that police reached the scene three hours after the crime. They also accused police of paying no heed with respect to providing security to the masses.
