Former Defence Minister Rao Sikandar dies

Former Federal Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal has been died in Okara due to kidney failure, report said on Wednesday. Rao Sikandar Iqbal, born in 1943, has been elected as a PPPP candidate and later joined PPPP (Patriot). Later, he joined PML-Q in 2002. He was inducted to the Federal Cabinet as a Senior Federal Minister with the portfolio of Defence in Musharraf government. During his political career, he was one of the founding members of PPP and has held office as Party President at the district level. He has also served as Federal Minister for Food, Agriculture and Cooperatives in 1988, Federal Minister of Sports, Culture and Tourism in 1993.
