Rs8.9m given to CM for flood relief

LAHORE - People from different walks of life met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at CMs Secretariat here on Tuesday and presented cheques for Rs 8.9 million for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees. The CM thanked the donors, who paid rich tributes to him for taking an active part in the relief activities, and said he had practically proved that he was Khadim of the people and enjoyed masses confidence. A delegation of Pakistan Steel Traders Association Badami Bagh, led by Noor Ahmed Qureshi, presented a cheque worth Rs5.388m. The delegation comprised Muhammad Tahir, Mian Arshad, Jamshed Mughal and Irfan Mughal. The delegation of Karyana Chemicals and Food Grain Trade Group Akbari Mandi, led by its president Mehboob Anwar Bobby, presented a cheque of Rs 1m. Similarly, a delegation from Vehari, led by Syed Sajid Mehdi and comprising Ch Yousaf, Ch Aashiq, Ch Irshad, Naeem Sabir and Qalb-e-Hassan presented Rs 1.5m. , while president APCA Lahore Safdar Hussain and General Secretary Ch Mumtaz presented a cheque for Rs one lakh.
