Mazhar Mehmood has been charged by the court under the allegations of lying and creating hurdles in case proceedings, according to Waqt News.  He was the journalist who trapped Pakistani cricketers Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Amir and Salman Butt in the spot fixing scandal.

During Pakistan cricket’s team tour to England in 2010, these three players were caught in spot fixing scandal with the help of their agent Mazhar Majeed. Asif and Amir deliberately bowled predesigned no balls during the Test match at Lords.

Salman Butt, M. Asif  and M. Amir were suspended from both International and domestic cricket for ten, seven and five years respectively by international cricket Council (ICC).  They have all become eligible to play international cricket again from September  1 this year, following ICC’s verdict.
