LAHORE - The police department has decided to upgrade its website to provide timely information to public about unclaimed dead bodies, missing persons, and recovered vehicles.
The decision was taken during a meeting held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at the Central police Office on Monday. All the senior officers concerned were present on this occasion.
As per police Order, in future the information about the unclaimed dead bodies would be uploaded on the website after the completion of required formalities including photography, DNA tests, fingerprints, and post mortem, a police spokesperson said.
It was also decided in the conference that the website’s homepage would be made public friendly and all relevant information including complete profile, contact numbers, and photographs of all serving RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, and retired IGPs would be made public.
The meeting was informed that a proposal would be submitted to the government regarding the amendments in laws to bracket the police Qaumi Razakars in official regulation. Similarly, in order to bring uniformity between the CTD and Investigation Departments, the details of terrorists and hardened criminal would also be shared among the security personnel and police investigators.
Various proposals regarding the uniform of the Specialized Protection Unit (SPU) force, promotions of police drivers, enforcement of biometric system, preparation of inventories, and computerization of all purchased items were also reviewed in detail in the meeting.
